Arty Leach Mug

A new range of glazed clay mugs designed and made in Cornwall by the world-famous Leach Pottery, exclusively for Seasalt. Our Arty Leach Mugs are made using stoneware clay from Doble's clay pits in St Agnes, Cornwall. They're brushed with a white molochite slip and decorated using a cobalt wash, then finished with a Chinese-style Ying Ching glaze. The small percentage of iron oxide in the glaze results in a translucent blue tone. These mugs are fired in an oxygen-reduced atmosphere to 1280 degrees Celsius, infusing the glazes with rich, iron tones. As they're all handmade, each mug is unique, and sizes may vary slightly.
