How to Style Trousers
Alex, our in-house stylist, shows us how she’s outfitting four different trousers shapes for the transitional season.

Our stylist Alex joined Seasalt as a designer with over 25 years' experience. She's worked on some of our most iconic designs and is now setting the tone for Seasalt looks as our in-house stylist. We caught up to find out how she’s styling four of our favourite shapes for autumn.
THE STRAIGHT LEG

"When I’m styling, I always have a character and purpose in mind: this is a day-on-the-go, and a woman who likes an easy, modern maritime look.
The Cardinham Duffle Coat is a nod to our nautical heritage, and the Penwith Jeans gives a nice balance paired with its boxy silhouette. If you don't like a rolled cuff, these trousers are also in our Petite collection."

THE WIDE LEG

"This is the outfit I’ll be wearing all winter. I love the textures: coloured denim elevated with a luxurious merino knit like the Dawson Pick Jumper paired with the soft cotton ribbed Makers Triangle Scarf.
The Godrevy Trousers (like Godrevy Denim Jeans and Godrevy Cord Trousers) have a long, high-waisted cut; it feels modern but has a touch of nautical nostalgia."
THE SLIM LEG

"I wanted to create an outfit that felt effortless and functional, whilst being cohesive and put together. I've used the Annet Suede Shoulder Bag in so many outfits this season! It's a classic.
The slim leg shape of the Lamledra Trousers is really versatile, and the dark needlecord is a great alternative to denim. I've added lots of texture on top, with the striped Fruity Jumper to pull all of the colours together."

THE BARREL LEG

"The generous barrel shape of the Stone Skim Trousers gives outfits a little drama, and the flat front waist means they work for most silhouettes. They’re a great transitional trouser.
I love them with the Scots Pine Jacket, which is reversible, so you can choose to show off the colour block outer, or the cosy recycled polyester borg fleece."
