June | Meadows & Pastures
We share the inspiration behind our latest collection.Long peaceful days stretch out ahead of us, like a patchwork of fields rolling down towards the sea. Sun-baked grasses blur into a single swathe that softens the space between land and sky.
We find June’s inspiration among wheat-whispering meadows. Paper-petalled poppies and cornflowers grow wild in hand-drawn prints, while new broderie brings texture to natural-blend fabrics.
We're embracing a slower pace and dressing accordingly, with easy outfits in a saturated summer palette. Gentle gathers add an airy drape to dresses and tops. These are the pieces for golden days, to treasure for summers to come.
From the Sketchbook
Back in the cool of the studio, our print designers pluck inspiration for bold agapanthus and poppy prints. Hand-drawn florals combine with sunshiny gingham in warm yarn-dyed colours.
For this collection, we’re layering prints and plains with a new decorative element – statement embroidery.
We’ve introduced lots of new fabrics and exciting textures, and these work brilliantly alongside the folk-inspired prints.
Stitched blooms and leaves are lifted from our prints, and spring to life in crisp white and vibrant meadow tones. Designs are drawn from Cornwall’s summer wildflowers, gathered in bouquets with a simple symmetry that nods to European folk art.
An embroidered jacket completely changes the feel of a simple summer outfit, adding detail and colour. The slub-textured cotton is light and easy, and the cut keeps things modern.

Our Chief Creative Officer Laura’s favourite outfit begins with the vibrant Swallow Hill skirt. Its abstract print was inspired by a bolder perspective of coastal pastures.
A playful patchwork interpretation of a wildflower meadow. I love the joyful colour contrasts.
Laura teams the full skirt with our classic Sailor Stripes, speaking to the sea as well as the land. A loosely tied Hazel Branch linen shirt in Tomato adds a laid-back summery layer.
Pair a patchwork-printed dress (like the bestselling Belle Dress) with a boxy denim jacket, playing with tone and texture.
June’s palette is really vibrant, taking inspiration from wheat fields, poppies and cornflowers.
To make the most of these sun-warmed colours, Laura suggests the saturated red of the Sun Gleam Dress, worn with a drapey printed scarf.
You’ll find these exciting new pieces in our New Collection, with its summertime shades, statement prints and intricate embroidered details.
