Outfits Ideas For A Cornish New Year
The Seasalt team share how they’ll be styling their New Year, and the traditions that make their celebrations feel so special. The moments between one year ending and the next beginning can feel really special. Whether you surround yourself with friends and family for a joy-filled New Year’s do, or retreat home to enjoy some peace and quiet - the traditions we return to each year hold an important place in our hearts, as do the outfits we choose to wear for them. With this in mind, we asked the Seasalt team how they’ll be celebrating and styling the final hours of 2025.

A Coastal Tradition
Amy, Brand Content Editor
"I'll be dressing warm and cosy for my New Year because my family always go to the beach and have a 'sausage sizzle' - it's a tradition that's lasted from when I was a child. There's something noble about how silly it is - heading out in the worst of the weather, to a grey abandoned beach, having to guard the sausages from dogs and keep children away from the sea. And it's worth it: there is nothing better than fire-hot food when it's freezing and raining."

Celebrations on the Sofa
Jess, Designer
“My partner and I love to stay in, avoid the crowds and cook something really special on New Year’s Eve. We’ll pick a recipe that’s a little fancier than normal, something that might take a few hours to prepare while we chat and open a bottle of bubbly. I still like to get dressed up and mark the moment; normally a colourful dress that will be comfier to sit in than jeans. Then we’ll settle on the sofa with our dog Otis and spend the last few hours of the year reminiscing.”

New Year’s at the Neighbours
Alice, Creative Copywriter
“Every year, me and my partner head to a New Year’s get together at the neighbours. They’ll decorate the house, light the fire and put on a perfect party playlist. We’ll bring our own glasses from home, dash out into the cold and run a few doors up the lane to be welcomed by hugs and smiles. The whole celebration has the loveliest feeling of community.”

The Get Away Gathering
Neal, Videographer & Editor
“For years now, my friends and I have used the holidays as an opportunity to get away and spend some quality time together. We’ll book a cottage that feels like a home from home and one of our friends will cook us a feast of fresh sushi. There’s nothing quite as special as being cooked for, especially when you love good food as much as I do. The dress code is casual, so I’ll be reaching for comfy trousers and a cosy jumper.”

Dancing in the Kitchen
Alex, Trend Forecaster & Stylist
“For me, New Year’s Eve is spent at home with friends. We’ll make a few picky bits, turn up the radio and enjoy a night in together. I’ll pick a relaxed outfit that still feels celebratory – I'm currently loving how effortlessly elevated a skirt and jumper pairing can be. The evening always ends with us dancing around the kitchen before heading to bed, normally way before the clock actually reaches midnight.”
