Seasalt Group Accessibility Statement

This statement was last updated on 28th June 2025.

Seasalt Group's Commitment to Accessibility

At Seasalt, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment that values and supports the abilities of every individual. This commitment extends not only to our team—by hiring, retaining, and promoting diverse talent—but also to our customers, by striving to make our services accessible to all.

We recognise that achieving full accessibility is an ongoing process. While we’ve made significant progress, we acknowledge that there is still more to do. We are committed to continuous improvement and have invested considerable resources into making our website easier to use and more accessible for everyone. We firmly believe that accessible design benefits all users and that everyone deserves to live with dignity, equality, comfort, and independence.

Accessibility Conformance Statement

Seasalt Cornwall aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards across our website. We are proud to have already implemented several accessibility enhancements across our site, including:

  • Consistent use of appropriate contrast: Key text and user interface components largely meet or exceed WCAG 2.2 contrast requirements for readability and legibility.
  • AAA-compliant touch targets: Key touchpoints across our site meet AAA-level size and spacing requirements, supporting users who rely on touch or assistive input.
  • Accessible customer service pages: Our Help and Contact pages have been built to support screen readers and keyboard navigation, with clearly structured and accessible content.
  • Accessible international checkout experience: Our checkout journey has been designed to ensure a smooth and accessible experience for EU and international customers.

As of June 2025, our website can be considered partially WCAG 2.2 AA compliant due to the following known issues:

  • Keyboard Navigation: Some areas of the site are difficult to navigate without a mouse. Resolving these issues is a top priority.
  • Focus Indicators: Improvements are underway to ensure that focus states are clearly visible for keyboard users and those using assistive technologies.
  • Search Functionality: We are addressing technical challenges affecting the usability of the search feature. In the meantime, all searchable content is also accessible via our global navigation, in line with WCAG SC 2.4.5 (Multiple Ways).
  • Alt Text for Product Images: We are actively working to provide accurate, descriptive alt text across all product imagery.
  • Sitewide Information and Relationships: As our content changes frequently, we strive to ensure it remains well-structured and accessible, particularly for users of assistive technologies.
  • Animated and Video Content Controls: We sometimes use animated content on our website and in marketing emails. To support users sensitive to motion, adding appropriate play/pause controls is in our roadmap.

Monitoring and Maintenance

We regularly evaluate our website using tools such as the WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool by WebAIM to identify and address accessibility barriers. However, some content may not yet fully meet accessibility standards due to technical limitations or legacy systems. We continue to seek appropriate solutions to address these gaps.
