How We Fundraise

With the help of our customers, Seasalt has helped raise thousands of pounds for brilliant causes.

For every pair of Seasalt socks we sell, 20p goes to charity and this year we will donate over £100,000 to our charity partners. Our Seasalt artists also create a unique charity Christmas card each year and in 2018, the proceeds generated over £10,000 for Hospital Rooms.

Hospital Rooms

Seasalt is part of a thriving community of artists and makers and we’re fortunate to see, first hand, how creativity can enhance wellbeing. We’re thrilled to partner Hospital Rooms whose important work in secure mental health wards supports some of the most vulnerable people in society, using the “power of art to provide joy and dignity and to stimulate and heal”.

Mylor Sailability

Our Seasalt studios overlook Falmouth Bay; a view that reminds us of our roots when our first customers were fishermen and artists. As sea lovers, we jumped at the chance to work with Mylor Sailability. This local Cornish charity aims to make the joy of the water accessible to everyone by providing sailing and powerboat sessions in the Fal Estuary, for people with disabilities.

The Seasalt Leach Bursary

Cornwall's Leach Pottery was established in St. Ives in 1920. Throughout its history, it has cultivated some of the world’s most prominent potters and played a pivotal role in building an appreciation for the ceramic arts.

In the spirit of Bernard Leach’s original vision, Seasalt continues his legacy by sponsoring Leach Pottery apprentices with a bursary to complete their three-year training programme. Our funding began in 2014 and Annabel is the third apprentice we’ve supported.

The Cornwall Community Foundation C100 Club

Seasalt believes in social responsibility at a grass-roots level and in 2018, we became a member of the Cornwall Community Foundation’s C100 Club. Together with other likeminded Cornish businesses, we donate £1000 a year to a collective pot that goes towards improving the lives of local people who are most in need. Community groups in the county apply for funding, which is awarded to those projects that the C100 grants panel feel will make the greatest difference.

City to Sea

Refilling a reusable bottle with tap water is an easy action to take to prevent plastic bottles entering our oceans or going to landfill. Many of our shops have been fitted with refill stations and we’ve recently donated £10,000 to fund the development of City to Sea’s Refill app, so that we can help contribute to cleaning up our oceans.
