Seasalt Journals: Estuaries & Towans
A new collection of rich colours, soft textures and transitional layers. The Cornish train line between St Erth and St Ives is famous for its view. The journey takes in the wild light of Hayle Estuary, then the rolling dunes (or “towans”) that fringe Porth Kidney beach. Just like the landscape, our latest collection is shaped by the tide.
Silhouettes are clean and impactful, designed to create a capsule of considered layering pieces. The effortless palette was inspired by Cornwall’s evening seascapes, and weaves through yarn-dyed checks and seasonless staples. Prints are contemporary and patterns are bold.
The monochrome feathers of wading birds are captured in warm Fair Isle knits, with yarns that are now fully certified by the Responsible Wool Standard. This means that our wool yarns are exclusively sourced from farms that take a progressive approach to land management to preserve the health of soil, biodiversity, and local ecosystems.
Working with 100% RWS-certified yarns is just one of our milestones this month. We've used more traceable organic cotton than ever before and have launched our most responsible rain collection yet, made with new low-impact recycled paddings and linings.
We're also proud to announce that we're now a certified B CorpTM, joining a global community of businesses that are creating positive impact. This achievement is part of our long-standing commitment to look after our people and planet.
Designed with the changing seasons in mind, find transitional pieces to love now and layer later. Wear them in conversation with each other, or leave them to speak for themselves.
Styled by Seasalt
As the seasons turn, artful layering is key. We love the way that contrasting textures and conversational tones can elevate an outfit. Chunky knits and rippled organic cotton corduroy make a rich pairing.
The colour palettes of this collection embrace natural tones. Teal blues and muted neutrals are an autumnal take on nautical colour. Vibrant reds are ready to warm up your seasonal wardrobe. And evening skies inspire a softer palette of sunset pinks and sandy shades.
From the sketchbook
In the studio, our designers have found new inspiration in Cornwall’s landscape. The sweeping lines and organic shapes of coastal estuaries inform a new collection of prints.
I used ink to create contrast between the fluid lines and block colours. The hidden birds were drawn from Cornwall's estuaries.
Dynamic and abstract, this print is my interpretation of the coastline at Hayle Estuary. I wanted the hand-painted brushstrokes to sweep across the fabric in all the colours of our September palette.
A monochrome print with fine line detailing that mimics lino print artworks. Illustrated oystercatchers fly freely through the design, adding depth and contrast with their recognisable red beaks.
