Copywriter - Maternity Cover

As our Creative Copywriter, you’ll report into our Senior Creative Copywriter, using your writing talent to inspire our customers to dress with confidence and creativity. You’ll spend your days sharing our brand ethos and love of Cornwall through storytelling, crafting persuasive and engaging copy that captures the beauty of our products.

 

In our blended approach to hybrid working, we expect our people to work a minimum of 40% of their week from a Seasalt Office in Cornwall, the remaining 60% of the time will be from home (or your chosen location – however, you must be based in the UK)'.

 

This role is offered as a maternity cover for a period of up to 12 months.

You'll help us by:

Building engagement to generate sales, supporting the delivery of Seasalt’s brand and content strategy by writing copy that helps increase our audience. You’ll originate stories that our customers want to hear, building our reputation as a market leader and creating authority in our sector as we evolve in the international marketplace.

 

Supporting on all aspects of writing, proofreading and information accuracy for all marketing collateral including catalogues, website, email, blogs, POS, social and product branding, as well as any internal communications. Writing product descriptions for our own website as well as third-party retailers, making sure each description is optimised for the relevant platform and market, and work closely with the multi-channel retail team to ensure online content is SEO and keyword friendly.

 

Building good relationships with the Product teams to gather details on print inspiration, as well as product USPs, features, benefits and technical information. Working with the Product Marketing team to ensure seasonal planning, content and product knowledge is shared for all channels, creating copy that captivates our customers and tells our brand story.

 

Collaborating with colleagues to research and produce brand content and community stories for both print and digital platforms. Working with the legal team to ensure all sustainability messaging meets guidelines and is in line with the Green Claims Code.

 

Contributing to the development of Seasalt’s tone of voice as the brand evolves, ensuring it is consistent across touchpoints and optimised for all relevant marketplaces.

The skills you'll be sharing with the team:

  • Experience in a copywriting role, writing long and short form copy for multiple platforms.
  • An understanding of SEO and best practices for search.
  • Creative, innovative thinker who brings new ideas to the table. With a connection to creative culture and a keen eye on emerging industry trends.
  • Possess a passion for creative writing and a natural at brand storytelling with a strong creative eye, adapting your writing style for relevant platforms.

Are you a visionary Retail leader with a passion for driving financial success and strategic growth? We’re looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our Executive Board and drive Seasalt’s success. Reporting directly to the CEO, this pivotal role will empower you to shape Seasalt's financial destiny and contribute to our global expansion.

Please note that whilst the preference for the role is to be based in Cornwall, this role can also be based remotely within the UK, with frequent travel to our Cornwall head offices on a fortnightly basis as a minimum. 

 

You'll help us by:

With overall responsibility for Seasalt’s financial decision making, you’ll lead on the development and delivery of the overall business strategy with Executive Board colleagues, monitoring its success. You’ll provide strategic financial input to Group Board, senior management and oversee the Finance, Operations & Compliance and Properties departments, ensuring effective controls are in place to mitigate any risks facing Seasalt and that Seasalt is compliant in all the legal jurisdictions in which it operates.

 

Overseeing the enduring financial sustainability of Seasalt, you’ll uphold precise financial forecasts and effectively manage investments and cash flows, ensuring profitability and positive cash generation. An excellent collaborator and business partner, you’ll manage relationships with key external stakeholders including investor shareholders and financial institutions.

As a leader, you will spearhead the growth and development of the Finance, Properties, and Operations & Compliance teams, instilling a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

The skills you'll be sharing with the team:

  • Proven success in leading the financial direction of a fast paced, large scale retail business with a multi-channel approach
  • Excellent strategic planning and execution skills
  • International exposure with experience of opening in new markets and building an international group structure, ideally including Europe & US
  • Inspirational and highly capable leader, able to motivate and hold team members to account
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS as well as experience with financial modelling and analysis
  • Experience in managing relationships with external auditors, regulators and financial institutions
  • Proven experience of negotiating and managing high value contracts with suppliers, and obtaining best value and service during the life of a contract
  • Good understanding of technology and its application within a Retail business, including ERP systems
  • Gravitas to gain the confidence of a broad range of key stakeholders in a fast-moving environment

Digital Trade Assistant

Working as part of the wider Digital team, the Digital Trade Assistant will assist with the trading and merchandising of the UK and International websites to achieve forecasted sales and profit margins. Reporting to the Senior Digital Trading Manager and working closely with the Merchandising and Marketing departments, the role will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth running and trading of our sites. 

Please note as part of our Seasalt Connected approach to ways of working, this role will be based flexibly across our Cornwall head office locations (minimum 40% of working week) and remotely.  

You’ll help us by:

  • Managing the day-to-day trading of products including the end-to-end management of all products and services including: product set up and maintenance, onsite merchandising and optimisation of onsite assets to maximize sales potential
  • Working closely with Web Development, Merchandising and Marketing teams to effectively deliver content changes and promotions across all websites
  • Supporting the Digital Trade Manager with site updates in accordance with the marketing calendar, seasonal promotions and focuses
  • Monitoring analytics to measure performance of activity and make recommendations for changes
  • Producing, analysing and reporting on KPIs daily, weekly and when required
  • Working with the user experience team to identify areas of improvement across the websites
  • Communicating with the wider e-commerce team about stock availability
  • Demonstrating an awareness of the different markets and adapting trading activity to maximize sales for the different customers in each market

 The skills you’ll be sharing with the team:

You’ll have experience working within a fast paced environment, and desirably, will have experience of Microsoft packages (particularly Excel), eCommerce platforms (preferable Magento) and Google Analytics/other analytical tools. A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience would be a bonus.

With excellent attention to detail, you’ll perform competitor analysis, highlighting opportunities to the wider online team to help drive performance and efficiencies.

 

An excellent communicator and team player, you’ll collaborate with key departments across the business to ensure our sites run smoothly.
