As an Assistant Merchandiser, you will play a key role in driving the planning, forecasting and trading of each season’s range using your strong analysis skills. Supporting our Merchandisers, you’ll help achieve agreed sales and profit targets and occasionally deputise for them. In this collaborative role, you’ll work with the Product team, including our Assistant Buyers to support the creation of each seasaon’s range and ensuring purchase orders for bulk production are accurate and in line with agreed critical path.
Please note, as part of our Seasalt Connected approach to ways of working, this role will be based flexibly across our Cornwall head office locations (minimum 40% of working week) and remotely within the UK.
You'll help us by:
- Supporting the Merchandiser by collating information for the Range Plan for all sales channels, ensuring the range plan is accurately maintained and submitted for company roll ups in a timely manner.
- Ensuring all relevant tasks are completed in line with the Critical Path.
- Working with the Merchandiser to understand and actualise commitment, sales, markdown and open to buy on the category cards.
- Proactively identifying blocks of product to create forecasting models, using line monitors to make recommendations for new orders or rephasing of current commitments as required.
- Ensuring all purchase orders are accurate and reflect the required level of commitment, the correct sizing and the desired intake dates, updating department ratios where necessary from size analysis.
- Assessing channel performance, key driving categories and best and worst selling lines and suggest appropriate course of action to Merchandiser to maximise sales.
- Creating price change models (either markdown or promotional) and reviewing fabric commitment under the supervision of our Merchandisers, as a reaction to current trade.
- Working with the Merchandiser to build and update relevant seasonal reports.
- Collating all necessary information for monitoring the departmental margin.
- Assessing sales (by option), reviewing intake of stock and distribution in line with requirements.

You’ll help us by:
- Working with the Product Merchandise Manager to ensure seasonal and departmental budgets/forecasts are thought through by channel (retail, online, and partners) and analysed in context of historical sales and seasons to be fully traded.

As a Buyer’s Administration Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless execution of the buying strategy through exceptional administrative, operational, and data management support. This role is the foundation of the buying function, responsible for managing purchase orders, sample coordination, product data accuracy, and supplier communication, all while maintaining the smooth day-to-day operations of the team.
The Buying Admin Assistant plays a key role in line with the critical path, maintaining product data, liaising with suppliers, and supporting the team in product development and trading decisions.

- Owning the purchase order (PO) process, accurately raising and managing orders in line with the critical path, ensuring all data is correct and proactively resolving any queries or delays.

- Highly IT proficient with experience of learning management systems and utilising technology to improve employee experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Confident presenter and facilitator with experience of delivering training in-person and virtually
- Ability to think commercially and evidence the return on investment for people initiatives
- Good project management and organisational skills
- Strong problem solver and solution orientated
